We defined target customers, service offerings and value propositions for each business. We identified linkages and potential synergies across businesses. We defined investment plans and priorities. We articulated key marketing messages for use in an intensive branding campaign. And we defined and socialized the go-forward action plan with senior management, resulting in a substantial investment by the business for practice development, business development, and internal R&D.
M&A Planning & Execution – Defense Logistics
We have been engaged to lead buy-side merger and acquisition planning and execution for a leading defense logistics and engineering solutions provider. In this capacity, we collaborate continuously with the client executive team as well as managers and experts across the organization to define the business’ acquisition strategy, and to identify and evaluate potential candidates. We then conduct due diligence, build financial projections and valuation models for qualified deals, articulate and socialize the deal rationale, and lead integration planning and execution for consummated deals.
Innovation & Growth Strategy – Engineering Solutions
We have been engaged to define an innovation and organic growth plan for a leading defense logistics and engineering solutions provider. As part of this engagement, we are collaborating with experts across the organization to exploit unique client capabilities and resources, and we are utilizing analytics tools and techniques to improve the client’s businesses and service offerings. We are researching and evaluating a rapidly evolving product and services markets, identifying potential OEM partners, defining pilot programs and investment opportunities, and defining an iterative implementation plan.
M&A Planning & Execution – Homeland Security Technology
We conducted buy-side acquisition planning and research for one of the world’s leading homeland security technology businesses. We worked closely with the business’ executive team to define the acquisition objectives and criteria, to identify potential candidates, and to conduct detailed research and diligence on the target companies’ business attractiveness, financials, product markets, and technologies. This engagement resulted in a reprioritization of target candidates, an active deal pursuit, and a framework for filtering and evaluating additional candidates.
Business Strategy & Planning – Integrated Security Solutions
We were engaged by a homeland security services and integration business to define a business strategy and plan for a new integrated security solution offering. We worked closely with the client leadership team to identify and prioritize target markets and clients, to define and position service offerings, to articulate differentiators and sources of competitive advantage, to determine investment requirements, to articulate the ROI rationale, to define a detailed execution plan, and to implement the investment presentation.
